Good Morning Ya'll!
So this week has been a busy week! I have come to realize that office supplies are becoming my best friends. With post-it notes, colored pens, paperclips, white boards, note cards. Who knew that all those would be essential with being an effective missionary?? I love it though cause I am a nerd at heart.
We had an all Sisters Conference on Tuesday last week which was beautiful. Hearing stories and testimonies from the other sisters was so inspiring. We also had the Presidency give us their messages as well. I loved seeing my MTC companion Sister Dodd though, she is the best :) My favorite part though was a talk given by one of the sisters about Priesthood. She spoke of how amazing it is that men are given such a wonderful authority to perform and act as the Savior. She showed us a picture of a people taking the sacrament from the Savior holding a sacrament tray. It was amazing. Another thing she said was men support the women, women support the men and together they energize the righteous. Um, so awesome and true! :) We had zone conference this week too which I loved, Sister Powell and I got so much closer because of this meeting too. I just love her and look up to her in so many ways. She had to give the 5 min talk and she spoke right from the heart, it was beautiful.
We did service twice this past week too which I LOVED! Everyone should do service! Its awesome! Haha. But we painted a room the first service for a lady who has a disease so she cant really do much. The second service was mowing, raking, and cleaning up this huge yard for a mom in the ward. I LOVED being outside though and doing the physical labor! Weird to say and maybe totally tomboyish but it was really nice. Minus the blister that I got on my right hand but its all good, now I just have a reminder of the service given and how happy it made her and me! :)
Best part of the week...Lauren and Jessica's baptisms on Saturday! So beautiful and there were so many people there to support the girls. It was so fun to see their faces after they came out of the water. When they were confirmed on Sunday, they were BEAMING!! Jessica's parents aren't Mormon at all and she lives with her Aunt who is, well her parents came to the baptism all the way from Kansas City (1hr away) to support her. Her mom was crying and they were both so appreciative. It was amazing to see.
I feel so blessed to be apart of so many miracles out here already. I know that the Lord has given me so much already and that times will be hard which I have already felt being out here. Sister Powell and I realized how strong our testimonies really have to be out here cause it gets challenged by SO many. Every day it changes and grows in a new way. Being a missionary isn't the easiest that is for sure but it SO rewarding!!! :)
Thank you all who write me every week! You make my Monday's so amazing. I am sorry if I don't write you all back right away, I promise I will someday! I love you all SO much! I really have no idea where I wouldnt be without having so many family members alone who support me! Its awesome and such a blessing :) I hope you can all see my picture I attached! Sorry if it's too big for you!
