Interesting Week in Odessa July 25, 2011

Hello Ya'll!
This week was pretty good but pretty slow at the same time. With the weather getting more intense than ever, it changed our work out here a bit.
On Monday last week, Todd, Jodie, Bobby and Robert Bischoff and us 3 all went to the visitors center! It was really fun! I kind of felt like a little kid as a tag along to a double date haha. We drove to the visitors center in the Bischoff's van and us missionaries sat in the back, of course I was the annoying kid asking "are we there yet!?". But we went to watch the Joseph Smith movie for the 2nd time and the projector didnt work and there wasnt another room open to watch it! We realized that the Lord is trying to give us a BIG sign that he isnt supposed to watch it yet. So, we are praying for direction as to what to teach him or show him next. That night I got to see Sister Dodd though!! She got transferred to the V.C. and saw my name on the list and came back with her companion to see me! It was an AWESOME surprise :)
We found a new investigator this week named Cody and we went back to teach him this past Thursday. When we got to his house, there were 2 kids there who were family friends of his and they stayed for our lesson. These boys that stayed are 13 and just got back from Bible camp. They are AWESOME. They brought their Bibles from next door, had deep questions about Christ and his atonement and we all had this amazing discussion. Later, we had to stop at Wal Mart for some random things and the 2 boys were there. They showed us around WalMart and we all had a hilarious time roaming around the store! Haha. Thank goodness for entertaining 13 year olds, always make my day better.
With the heat and humidity being so high, our county has been on a heat advisory watch for awhile and it will continue until Thursday night this week. I have been downing even more water than usual, which if you know me is A LOT! I carry around a liter bottle of water every where. Well, Friday the heat got to me and Sister T. I had to come and lay down for awhile. I thought I was doing better but then yesterday morning I fainted walking into the bedroom. Luckily my companions are rockstars and helped me out. I got a blessing about 2 hours after it happened and had a nurse from the ward come check on me. Then Sister Jodie Reid came by with gatorade, snacks, water, a card from her grand kids telling me to "not faint anymore" ha and all sorts of goodies. Then Momma Tina Kellogg called me to check one. Sister Bobby Bischoff came by too. The Bishop called. And about 3 other members where texting us to make sure we were all okay. Needless to say, I have many momma's and poppa's looking after me :) I am doing much better now and things are looking pretty good. We all had to stay inside yesterday, which we pushed our beds together and had a big slumber party. It was pretty fun and yet very boring at the same time! Sister T and I had a water fight for a good 5 minutes.
I am so grateful for the Lord and for all that he has blessed me with. I cant even thank Him enough for all that I have and for being out here. So many beautiful experiences, even if some are really hard to cope with, I still love it all. I am grateful for my personal talents and the Spirit that I have been blessed with. So many blessings. It would be hard for me to be negative with just looking at what I have in front of me and for who I have in my life. Which includes all of you :) I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
Love,
SISTA LARSON
