Oh hey oh!! This day and this month is just FLYING by...
In the past week, I have experienced SO much I feel like there isnt enough time to share it all.
I was able to go on exchanges with Sister Hall and the yesterday with Sister Fie'eiki (the sister Leader). It has been so much fun, I feel like I am in college living with a bunch of girls all over again haha. I feel like I have my girlfriends from back home out here on the mission! It is so fun and I feel like its not real to have this much fun out here ha :) Sister Fie'eiki and sister Jergens, the 2 sister leaders are truly and answer to my prayers. I love them both so much and I think I just found my other halves out here! Haha. Dont worry Alisha, Sara, Lacy and others...you will always be my number 1's ;-)
The area that Sister Whittier and I have to serve in is amazing. The people in the ward are caring, always willing to help us out and give so freely. Its kind of nice because the ward is so small they dont even open up the back sliders because they fill up the chapel seats and that is it! It is kind of weird at the same time because out in Odessa the ward was growing and filled up 2 of the back rooms! It is kind of challenging trying to know who everyone is since our proselyting time is so short compared to full pros so I dont know the ward very well yet.
We have been working with some of the less actives and trying to remind them of the spirit that is missing in their lives. It has been more of a testimony builder for myself becuase some have fallen away because they dont put Heavenly Father first or just have lower self esteems. It breaks my heart because they are all so amazing yet dont see their own potential or see how Heavenly Father really sees them. We shared tender mercies again with a member and it was a great reminder to me about keeping my eyes open to see what the Lord blesses me with that day. It really does change your day and your attitude when you LOOK for the blessings in every single day. Just like it says under Ezra in the bible dictionary, that every day is significant, we can make it that way as long as we try.
I have grown so close to the sisters that I serve with and I feel so grateful that the Lord has called me here and at this specific time. I can see almost every day why I am here and why things happen as they have happened. The senior couples here are beyond awesome!! I have grown so close to the Blackers who serve more up at the visitor center but they became like parents and friends to me. They even brought me donuts this morning for my birthday haha. I will miss them when they go home in September. The other couple, the Sinclairs who live here in LIberty do so much for us and it is so nice. It makes me want to serve a senior mission so I can be the fun and cool senior couples ha :)
Oh and this week is even better than the rest becuase on Friday nights we are going to do a traditional house party. This past week, we learned a coreographed dance to some random Book of Mormon old school video. IT WAS THE BEST!!! Haha. I got to dance, do the stanky leg, the jerk, and just free style dance haha. Needless to say, it was awesome and felt good to do my thang! :)
I feel so loved from the people here and from the Lord. I feel like my mission is just flying by and it kind of weirds me out. But I am trying my best to live it all to the fullest, take advantage of my time and help change lives. Thank you for the birthday gifts and emails and love!! It is hard being away from everyone on my birthday but know that I am being taken care of and am just looking forward to next year when I fly home on my birthday! :) I LOVE YOU ALLL!!!!! I cant say it enough :)
