November 2, 2011- Eight Months

Hello Hello Hello!
So, its a new week of the 6th transfer for me and I stayed here in Liberty 2nd! I got myself an Hermana too! My new companion is Hermana Underlin from Utah, of course, but she is pretty cool. She has been out on her mission for 14 months and has never been here to Liberty Jail so I've been showing her around. It has been a fun week together too because she has a lot of experience which was challenging for us in the beginning. Of course every companionship has challenges to a change but we are doing so good now! I really enjoy working with her, she is studying to be a neuroscience major and going into like brain surgery! Wicked smart girl at 22 years old. I am really looking forward to the rest of the transfer though, it will be full of amazing miracles I already can tell :)
Saying goodbye to Sister Whittier was so weird and not too bad! Its nice because she goes home in July next year and will be around me for the end of my mission. We will get to see each other again, I already know it! the best part is, she got sent to ODESSA to be with Sister Tafradghieva! Haha. I got to see Bobbi Bischoff from my old ward over there and that was really fun. I am excited for her out there in Odessa, my first love :)
On Thursday, while Sister Vickers and I were waiting for our companions to come from far away Kansas she came with me to an appointment I had with a Part member family. I was really excited and nervous because it was our first official lesson at their house. Its a younger couple Sam (the less active member) and his wife Stacy along with their cute little kids. A member from the ward came with us and it was the greatest lesson! Stacy was flipping through the Restoration pamphlet we have and she is really open to learning more about it. The spirit was so strong and Sam said that he believes just about everything in the doctrine of our church, he just doesn't want to give up his cigarettes or coffee. We are hoping that everything will help their family grow closer together and help Sam overcome those challenges. It's going to be really fun teaching along the way, they are such NICE people and totally golden!
Sister Underlin taught Vincent again on Saturday, another really awesome lesson! He has so many questions and is really honest with us about the different things he has learned. He noticed a change in his life lately so we just keep encouraging him to read the book of Mormon and pray about it. After a long lesson with him, we told him to come to church the next day and he said he was going to be at a party late that night but said he'd try. Well, we walked into church on Sunday and there he sat! In a white shirt, tie and press pants. Incredible. It was fast Sunday and there was such an INCREDIBLE feeling there! He LOVED it! Haha. He had the biggest smile on his face just watching everyone get up and bear their unscripted words from the heart testimonies. He turned around and encouraged this teenage girl I was trying to get to go up with me, told her that everyone's nervous...she went up with me after that!! It was such a wonderful Sunday and I am so glad that he was able to make it. I will keep everyone updated on him next week about any changes that happen. Pray that he accepts the invitation for baptism :)
We have seen a lot of other random miracles and have such an AWESOME group of sisters here at the jail! I love this transfer already for totally different reasons than last. Sister Crapo came to be with Hermana Vickers, I absolutely LOVE sister Crapo and have never served around her but have talked with her at zone conferences. Its like we've been friends forever, which makes being here at the jail with her even better! Another Hermana came to be with sister Hall, Hermana Birch and she is tiny but SO awesome! Sad to see Sister Fie'eiki leave here but we will miss her. With all the Hermana's in the house, you hear a Spanish prayer almost every hour ha! Its fun! I am going to try and work on my Spanish again!! The Gomez family told me I have to learn how to say the prayer in Spanish tonight in order to eat! Haha. I hope it goes well or I will be going hungry! :)
I love you all! I will have some awesome spiritual message next week! ;-) As for now, I recommend studying D&C 121 :) It says things that I cannot say.
Love
SISTAAAA Larson
