Hello All!
I must say that I am so grateful that I write my emails on Monday's right after the temple because I am so much more uplifted than any other time of my day :)
So this week has been really awesome, surprise surprise. On Tuesday, the President of the MTC (pres Brown) came and sat at lunch with me and the other 3 sisters in my district!! It was kind of intimidating to be honest yet really cool. He quized us about what scriptures we could name off about the Atonement, asking about our purpose and everything. It was pretty amazing. He offered Sister Moore an invitation for her parents to come tour the MTC cause they are really supportive of her mission, way cool!
Tuesday night's devotional was really amazing too because the speaker spoke about what type of missionary we will be. One of the speakers said that this is our Celestial Mission and we must choose now to RETURN WITH HONOR. I loved that cause I know I def want to put forth ALL my effort so that I can say to my family and friends when I get off that plane that "I did the best I could." Tuesday was also really awesome because I got 3 letters from Brian, Janae and Kim! I loved it, it was perfect timing.
Wednesday we got asked to Host the new missionaries who were coming in, so fun!! We did it after our service assisgnment too which was surprisingly really great. But the hosting was so fun, manily because it was good to see all the other new sisters and know that I will NEVER have to go through that first experience again haha. Suckas. Haha jk. But seriously...
Wednesday and Saturday we taught Jose and Hailey again. They were our least favorite at first but it was by far the most amazing experience teaching them this week. On Wed they expressed concern for their 20 year old daughter who was dating some punk kid who convinced her to drop out of school and disobey her parents. It was so sad to hear them talk about it and to see the pain in their eyes. We gave them advice and tips and just prayed all week for them. On Sat when we went back, they said that her daughter came to them asking for help and forgiveness cause she didnt want to date this boy anymore because he wasnt good. They told the story with happiness and tears in their eyes. They said they knew it was because they knew we were praying for them. It is amazing how the Lord works and blesses people in the most perfect way. It makes me so much more excited to go out to MIssouri and really teach as many people as we can.
Friday was the best day ever. I GOT A PACKAGE!! And the best part - it was FULL of COOKIES!! Chocolate chip and M&M Chocolate chip. It was awesome! Thank you Dad and Kim!! :) I instantly became the coolest sister in my zone too cause of course I shared my cookies....dont want to be eating too much! Girls gotta watch her weight! ;-) But I still had plenty do not worry, so if anyone else cares to send me I will eat and most def enjoy. Just throwing that out there. I can send you my address again if you need. Let me help you help me. Haha. Anyways....
Things are still going really well, I love my district. Sometimes they are too serious for my taste but it always works out. The district that left on Tuesday was by far my favorite and sister Dodd and I have missed them a lot. Our eating times arent quite the same. Although in the other districts there are 3 elders from South Africa and they are AWESOME!! Haha. I love them.
I am so grateful to be out here on a mission. My teacher sister cook expressed how this is the only time we will ever have the oppportunity to go out, knock on peoples door, find out about their life and beliefs and really connect with people quickly. I love that though because it makes me want to go out and talk to everyone that I can because my time out here is so valuable. In the temple this morning, I couldnt stop smiling because I was just filled with this enormous joy and gratitude! I felt so dorky cause I had this silly smile on my face, just chilling in the chapel before the session even started. The Lord is so great. It is amazing how he works :)
I love you all and am so so so so blessed to have all the support that I do. Its so cool to know that so many people pray for missionaries all around the world and I am apart of that.
I wish you all the best and hope you see the blessings in your own life :)
Love,
Sistaaaaaaaaaaa Larson
